As part of our 15-year anniversary celebration, throughout the year, we will be featuring our first 15 employees. We continue the celebration with Project Manager Jade Fertich!
Name: Jade Fertich, PE
Title: Project Manager
Department: Roadway
- What’s an early memory from your first year at NTM? What stood out to me the most after joining NTM was the culture of kindness and mutual respect that I found. I was also surprised to find out how many different reasons there were to have an office celebration event involving food, particularly bacon.
- What has been one of your most interesting projects and why? The SR 4001 Section 020 bridge rehabilitation project over Little Pine Creek in English Center, Lycoming County, PA was one of my most interesting projects. The existing structure was a historic single-lane 300-foot-long eye-bar cable suspension bridge built in 1891. NTM was involved in the project from the feasibility phase through final design and was responsible for the H&H report, waterway permit, E&S Plans, and the Traffic Control Plans. The hydraulics were extremely sensitive to the proposed improvements on the roadway approaches. We carefully evaluated numerous design iterations to find a solution with acceptable hydraulics.
- What is something your co-workers might not know about you OR what are some things you enjoy doing outside of work? I come from a family of engineers. My oldest brother is a civil engineer, my other brother is a structural engineer, and my sister married an electrical engineer. My brother-in-law left the engineering field and went into the banking industry, but we are still on speaking terms. 🙂 Outside of work, I enjoy going on hikes and mountain bike rides in the mountains around Dillsburg.
- What is one of your proudest NTM moments or biggest accomplishments? I am very proud of the excellent teamwork skills and collaborative spirit we have at NTM, which makes work enjoyable and really helps us to provide high-quality deliverables.
