Jeffrey S. MacKay, P.E., CPESC, has been named Young Engineer of the Year by the Central Pennsylvania Engineers Week Council. This annual award recognizes outstanding individuals in engineering and engineering-related or technical disciplines. The awards presentation will take place during the annual Engineers Week Banquet, to be held on Thursday, February 18, 2010.
Mr. MacKay is a principal of NTM Engineering. He earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering from Drexel University and holds professional engineering licenses in Maryland, New York, and Pennsylvania. Mr. MacKay’s professional background has included a combination of teaching, research, and providing engineering consulting services for a variety of projects.
In 2010, Mr. MacKay will be a seminar instructor at the national level of ASCE in Portland, OR, and San Francisco, CA. The two-day seminar, Low Impact Development (LID) Applications for Water Resource Management, will focus on the engineering and technical issues associated with the planning, engineering, construction, and effectiveness of LID.
Additionally, Mr. MacKay serves as the Linear Projects Subcommittee Team leader for the current statewide committee review of the existing DEP Stormwater BMP Manual. The committee was formed to review the manual and make recommendations for future changes/updates to it. The committee is made up of stormwater professionals in Pennsylvania.
