NTM Engineer Mark Bowen, PE, CFM along with NTM Principals John Newell, MEng, PE, CBI and Rachel Tereska, MS, PE attended the launch of 3.0 University Place in Philadelphia, PA, on Thursday, October 15, 2015. The building is the first of several proposed LEED office buildings of which NTM will be conducting the civil design. It is located at 41st Street and Market Street, adjacent to its flagship building, LEED Platinum Certified 2.0 University Place. 3.0 University Place is the world’s first pre-certified LEED Platinum V4 building and includes state-of-the-art green stormwater management infrastructure that NTM’s Mark Bowen helped design. The U.S. Green Building Council’s newest LEED Rating System called version 4 (V4), is a significantly more rigorous rating system with greater focus on energy savings. LEED Platinum is the highest level of achievement under the LEED Rating System.
3.0 University Place saves 778,000 gallons of water a year, diverts 50 tons of waste from landfills, saves 1,000,000 kWh of energy per year, and created 120 jobs. NTM is in the final stages of opening an office in 2.0 University Place.
