Name: Dylan Shannon
Title: Senior Engineer
Department: Stormwater
- What is your favorite memory at NTM OR what’s an early memory from your first year at NTM? Not knowing/expecting a Christmas bonus. It somehow came up with Donna about proposing to my then girlfriend (now wife) if we “received a good bonus”. I should have realized what I had done by Donna’s laugh at that bet… I was fully expecting a $100 dollar gift card to Giant or something. Normally Jeff would have met with me to discuss the bonus but Donna did with a big grin on her face as she said something along the lines of “now you HAVE to propose”… It will be 9 years married in June. Other Favorites include winning the Christmas cornhole tournament 2 years in a row with Ben, and all of the various competitions to win the NTM trophy that gets passed around.
- What has been one of your most interesting projects and why? I would have to say SR81-511. I have worked on this project off and on since 2009. Every problem and change that could happen, did happen. It was a challenging project from a stormwater perspective, and I have learned a lot on this project.
- What is something your co-workers might not know about you? I used to race dirtbikes when I was younger and less injury prone. Nowadays, I enjoy spending time with my wife and 2 daughters fishing and relaxing on our boat. I also enjoy being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and golfing when I can.
- What is one of your proudest NTM moments or biggest accomplishments? Seeing any project I’ve worked on being submitted and built. We tend to go after difficult projects from a stormwater/drainage perspective, so it is rewarding to see them permitted and built. It has also been amazing to watch and be a part of NTM’s growth during the last 13 years.
