As part of our 15-year anniversary celebration, throughout the year, we will be featuring our first 15 employees. We continue the celebration with NTM Senior Project Manager Lino Magnelli!
Name: Lino A. Magnelli, PE
Title: Senior Project Manager
Department: Hydrology and Hydraulics
- What’s an early memory from your first year at NTM? I would say our open house in 2009 for the current office building ranks up there. Not only did it mark the end of an era at our original office space (God bless its heart), it felt like an “on the map” moment for our evolution. We were two years in existence and the NTM brand was growing throughout the state via numerous project involvements and training courses delivered. It was a proud moment to showcase our new building with so many that turned out from our industry. It also felt like a celebration among employees for the next big step in the NTM journey.
- What has been one of your most interesting projects and why? The Eisenhower Interchange (SR 0083 Section 78) is without a doubt my most interesting and challenging project to date. It has required intense agency coordination with DEP and collaboration with the USACE’s ongoing Dauphin County FEMA remapping efforts. The project spans numerous waterway crossings with varying levels of complexity, most of which requiring innovative H&H modeling techniques. Sequencing of the five construction contracts presented additional H&H and waterway permitting hurdles. Communication between and within all disciplines of the design team will prove paramount to the success of this project.
- What are some things you enjoy doing outside of work? I love spending time with my family outside of work whether it’s family dinners, movie nights, coaching and/or attending sporting and school events, and family vacations. I also enjoy playing golf when I can.
- What is one of your proudest NTM moments or biggest accomplishments? Being part of NTM’s evolution has resulted in many rewarding accomplishments, such as helping to develop internal processes for workflow, establishing countless relationships through teaming partners, assisting in our technical course development, and teaching many courses across the state. However, I am most proud to be part of developing our amazing team of dedicated employees from meeting them at career fairs, to the interview process, hiring, training, developing, and integrating them into the NTM culture/family. Having the opportunity to see them grow in their career and achieve success along the way has been extremely fulfilling to me.
