NTM has been very active in our communities this spring, volunteering with a number of organizations.
Wayne Office – SAN Scrub and Pub Event
Staff from our Wayne office participated in the Scrub and Pub Event with the Schuylkill Action Network cleaning up Trout Creek on March 31. Our historian Elsie found some ruins to explore, and Connor, our Environmental Scientist, found a spring seep wetland to clean up.
State College Office – Habitat for Humanity
Our State College office volunteered with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Centre County on April 5. Tasks included insulating the basement and covering the insulation with particleboard, foam insulating cracks and around windows, installing receptacle boxes, and getting the house ready for the trades to start coming in.
Philadelphia Office – Tree Planting
Staff from our Philadelphia office planted trees in the Fairhill neighborhood in April. One group planted four street trees, and another planted three trees at Juniata Park Academy.
Dillsburg Office – New Hope Ministries’ Food Bank Help
Two groups out of our Dillsburg office volunteered at New Hope Ministries’ Food Bank. Our first group assisted with a variety of tasks, including sorting and repackaging items, stocking shelves, and more. Our second group of NTM volunteers helped in Dillsburg. Some of their tasks included helping pack food items, organizing, and packing up t-shirts, and cleaning up the work areas.
Dillsburg Office – Bowl for Kids’ Sake
Some of our staff and their family participated in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Capital Region Bowl for Kids’ Sake event in March at the ABC West Lanes in Mechanicsburg, PA. The event sold out and nearly $20,000 was raised overall!
