NTM Engineering has been named one of the Best Places to Work in PA for 2014. The awards program, created in 2000, is the first statewide program of its kind in the country and is a public/private partnership among Team Pennsylvania Foundation and the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, Pennsylvania State Council of the Society for Human Resources Management, and Central Penn Business Journal.
“We were very pleased to hear that we made the 2014 list. Our company philosophy is to create a team environment that values mutual respect, promotes open communications, and shares our company achievements. It is rewarding to see that our employees enjoy coming to work at NTM, and we are succeeding in creating a positive work environment,” commented NTM President Donna Newell, MS, PE, CFM. “Additionally, the feedback from the program will help us evaluate future policies and programs that would benefit our team.”
The Best Places to Work in PA survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize, and honor Pennsylvania’s best places of employment and highlight those firms that are benefitting the state’s economy and its workforce. Employers are categorized based upon the total number of U.S. employees, 25-249 employees and 250 or more employees. To be considered for participation, NTM had to be a for-profit or not-for-profit business, be a publicly or privately held business, have a Pennsylvania facility, have at least 25 employees working in Pennsylvania, and be in business a minimum of one year.
Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the 100 Best Places to Work in PA. The first part of this process, worth approximately 25% of the evaluation, was evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophies, systems, and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking.
NTM will be recognized at the Best Places to Work in PA awards banquet on December 4, 2014, at the Lancaster County Convention Center. The top 100 rankings will be revealed at the ceremony.
