As part of NTM’s 15th Anniversary celebration, we will feature a project from every year our company has been in business.
In 2010, NTM was hired by Temple University to assist the Philadelphia Water Department (PWD) with developing an Act 167 Plan for the Pennypack Creek Watershed. NTM’s role was to assist the CSC in
calibrating the HEC-HMS model, including rainfall and stream gage analysis. NTM also aided in converting the modeling results into stormwater standards and criteria, as well as developing and conducting presentations at Plan Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings.
NTM reviewed:
- Hydrologic modeling for the Pennypack Creek Watershed using the updated HEC-HMS
- Existing and proposed stormwater improvements in the watershed, including costs and their impacts on runoff and flood flows
- 3D perspective maps highlighting roads and structures and their degree of inundation during storm events
- Stormwater management districts for peak rate control
- Groundwater recharge, water quality volume, and stream bank erosion requirements for the model ordinance
