NTM is proud to be a bronze sponsor for the Penn State Chapter of Engineers in Action.
This past summer, the chapter was able to send three student travelers to Eswatini to collaborate with Colorado Boulder and the University of Virginia to construct an 87-meter pedestrian footbridge. Because of the footbridge, the community of Masongwane in Eswatini can now safely cross the dangerous floodwaters of the Masongwane River.
The students spent a total of nine months fundraising, designing, planning, and then building the bridge. Through the process, however, they work together all year long so that once they step into a community, they can unite, despite the language barrier, to empower and inspire each other to build opportunities for a better way of life.
