Rachel L. Tereska, P.E., has received an Alumni Achievement Award from The Pennsylvania State University. The Alumni Achievement Award recognizes outstanding career achievements among alumni 35 and younger. The award ceremony will be held April 9, 2010, at the University Park campus.
Ms. Tereska, a principal of NTM Engineering, earned her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and holds professional engineering licenses in Delaware, New York, and Pennsylvania. Her consulting engineering experience includes hydrologic analyses, hydraulic design, and technical instruction.
Currently Ms. Tereska is leading the analysis of several two-dimensional (2-D) hydraulic modeling for complex stream and river environments. She is one of the few engineers in the state of Pennsylvania performing 2-D modeling, and NTM is one of the only firms to have developed 2-D models for PennDOT.
Ms. Tereska also serves as the project manager and one of the lead instructors for several of the H&H Professional Development Series courses that NTM Engineering developed for PennDOT’s Bureau of Design. This series involves the development of customized short courses related to H&H design and permitting of bridges and culverts for highway projects. Rachel is currently completing the development of the Advanced HEC-RAS and Scour Analysis Course, which will pilot in March 2010.
