A critical component of any land development or highway plan and earthmoving permit is the Erosion and Sediment Control (E&S) Plan. Inadequate design of E&S best management practices (BMPs) results in plan re-submissions and project delays, while over-design leads to unnecessary project costs. Eliminate multiple plan submissions and reduce your client’s project costs by attending this course, which focuses on the selection and design of E&S BMPs using the PA DEP Erosion and Sediment Pollution Control Program Manual.
Every participant will receive a course binder containing annotated lectures and step-by-step instructions for designing E&S BMPs. No computer is required.
Topics include:
- Proper selection and cost-effective design of various E&S BMPs
- Design considerations in special protection watersheds and areas adjacent to streams and wetlands
- Cost savings opportunities
Upon successful completion of the course, attendees will be able to:
- Identify cost-savings opportunities associated with E&S Plans
- Avoid common design errors that result in plan re-submissions
- Design various types of perimeter sediment controls
- Select and design appropriate channel lining
- Locate and design sediment basins and traps
- Properly size rock outlet protection
- Modify BMP specifications in sensitive areas
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made more than 10 days before the course will be fully refunded (minus any registration platform fees).
