NTM Engineering’s Introduction to HEC-RAS training will teach you how to use the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Hydraulic Engineering Center River Analysis System (HEC-RAS) software program. HEC-RAS is an engineering industry standard for modeling steady, gradually-varied, one-dimensional open channel flows.
Our application-oriented training provides lectures along with actual demonstrations and hands-on workshops to introduce you to open channel modeling, culvert and bridge hydraulics, and their applications. NTM will teach you hydraulic analysis procedures for waterway modeling via site assessment, cross-section data collection, hydraulic method selection, output interpretation, and existing and proposed condition comparison.
Topics include:
- Hydraulic modeling
- Flow resistance
- Water surface profiles and their geometric data requirements
- Layout cross section locations
- Steady flow
- Developing HEC-RAS models
- Bridge hydraulics and modeling
- Culvert hydraulics and modeling
- Existing and proposed conditions modeling
Requirements: Attendees must bring their own laptop. Prior to the first day of class, each participant will receive a link to download HEC-RAS software and workshop files via email.
The course will run 8:30 am to 4:30 pm each day.
NTM has met the standards and requirements of the Registered Continuing Education Program. Credit earned on completion of this program will be reported to RCEP.net. Certificates of Completion will be issued to all participants via the RCEP.net online system. Complaints regarding RCEP registered providers may be addressed to RCEP at 1400 L Street, NW, 4th Fl., Washington, DC, 20005. Website: RCEP.net.
Attendees who attend all three days will receive 21 PDHs (certificate available via RCEP website in accordance with their policies).
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made more than 10 days before the course will be fully refunded (minus any registration platform fees). Registrations cancelled within 6 to 10 days of the course will receive a 50% reimbursement. Cancellations within 5 days or less and no-shows will not receive a refund. Substitutions of another individual are permitted if you are unable to attend.
